Escapes 2012 - 2018
Each painting in this series began with a selection and matching of random fragments of prints. A variety of colors and styles of printed pieces were combined to create distinct objects that interact and bond in complex ways to compose a final image that exhibits a particular vision of mine. The challenge of this process gave me the energy and inspiration to go deeper into my imagination and develop new intertwining shapes connecting with the background. The exploration of the various prints, the evolution of images through colors, and their relationship with space became the perceived task that led to the creation of these paintings. Although the central figures may look like giant insects, non-existing and unidentifiable, they are part of a surreal world escaping from reality.
